Sunbury Crab Co
is a family-owned-and-operated restaurant . . .
"This one is a little out of the way but well worth the trip. Small enough to be personable and cozy but big enough to not have to wait long for a table. This place is one you should check out. One of the most beautiful views on Coastal Georgia, The Sunbury Crab Company is both a culinary and visual treat. Go by boat, or car, as they have plenty of dockage or parking to accommodate your mode of travel. From the minute you arrive you are greeted by staff, or just as likely, owners, you will be reminded what the word "service" should mean in a restaurant. Casual dining in a rustic, open-air waterfront decor upstairs and now open, a river front bar with a full band stage and everything you would need for a party of whale size proportions! The menu is simple and brief. Truthfully put, everything we have tried has been excellent. The crab cakes are made fresh at the Crab Company with their own fresh caught daily blue crabs. The owner's son makes daily runs of the Company's line so you will NEVER be served crab that has been frozen. The grouper, whether grilled or fried, is also an excellent choice. Their main claim to fame as you might expect is fresh blue crab. Bring an appetite and roll up your sleeves. Your entree will be prepared when your order is turned in. Crabs are cleaned BEFORE cooking. The seasoning penetrates every little cavity and the mess that turns many people off when eating blue crabs is no longer a problem. A large platter of these babies and your taste buds will be in seafood heaven! Sunday offers a special of "home cooking'" and you never know what you might find on the menu. My last trip it was pork tenderloin that absolutely melts in your mouth. This is our new favorite place and if you try it I think it just might become yours too. If you are a fresh seafood lover and you haven't made the short trip to Sunbury, just below Midway, GA you are missing the boat.?
